May 29 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

$20.00 – $30.00

Presenters:

Hilary McClinton and Oswin Latimer

Learning Outcomes:

Sleep concerns impact a high number of children, ranging from 20-30%, and as high as 50-80% of neurodivergent children. Sleep disturbance continue into each stage of life, impacting physical health, mental health, the workplace, educational settings, family life, etc. As behaviour analysts, we are in a good position to consider healthy sleep early in assessment and support education and skill development in this area to support healthy sleep across a lifespan. To do that, we also need to understand the unique considerations within neurodivergence, and how to include those considerations within assessment and support planning

1. Describe why identifying barriers to healthy sleep is a key variable in developing early case conceptualization and support planning.

2. Describe considerations for treating sleep within neurodivergent populations, as antecedent, stimulus control and setting events.
