Anti-Ableist Alternatives to Common ABA Programming
June 25 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Event Navigation

Ableism is a form of discrimination that privileges able-bodied people and can be found in the foundation of our science. In an effort to create goals that celebrate and affirm those with disabilities, attendees of this event will learn to use their science to create goals that enhance, rather than change, the qualities that make the individual unique. By doing so, we can help create an environment that is equitable and inclusive of all people, regardless of ability.
- Attendees will be able to identify how traditional ABA programming can be ableist for neurodivergent learners.
- Attendees will be able to define and identify ableism and how it harms neurodivergent learners.
- Attendees will be able to identify affirming programming inclusive of learner values and assent.
