Erin Bertoli
Erin started out her career as a special education teacher working in early childhood classrooms utilizing Skinner’s Analysis of Verbal Behavior as her primary approach to teaching. Erin was certified as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst™ in 2010 and has been working in homes and schools ever since. As a mother of 3, Erin is deeply passionate about fostering strong social and emotional development in youth and has recently focused her attention on contextual behavioral science and the vast utility of mindfulness-like behaviors, ACT, and RFT within the world of ABA. Erin has been practicing ACT on a personal level for over 6 years (have to live it to give it!) and has trained under Mark Dixon, Tom Szabo, Jonathon Tarbox, Evelyn Gould, Louis Hayes, Stu Libman, Siri Ming, and more. She has experience implementing the AIM curriculum and the DNA-V model, working with the ACT Matrix, and using ACT to enhance caregiver training and treatment fidelity of staff. She presented at ABAI 2021 on the vast utility of ACT, and presented on the increasing scope of competence in ACT. She also runs multiple cohorts of ACT Peer Groups through Brett DiNovi & Associates™, and provides 1:1 coaching and consultation on using ACT in clinical practice. Ashton has worked as a supervisor in the field for over 10 years across multiple states, ages, and populations. She specializes in severe behaviors such as self injury and physical aggression as well as life-threatening elopement. Ashton has expert training in functional analysis from Dr. Rachel Taylor & Dr. Michele Wallace and has conducted hundreds of trainings with other behavior analysts on FAs, ACT, and Neurodiversity Affirming practices.
